Blinky (monster) - Definition and Overview

Blinky (also known as Shadow) is the red monster from the video game Pac-Man. He is the one most often associated with the ghosts, as he is almost always in close, constant pursuit of Pac-Man. He often makes unexpected turns around corners, catching players off guard; he also chases Pac-Man in conjunction with Pinky, trapping the player from two sides.

One of the more notable aspects of Blinky's "personality" is that when a certain number of dots are eaten on the board (depending on the level), he will receive a considerable boost in speed. Pac-Man fans refer to this change as Cruise Elroy, though the origin of this term is unknown.
