Bobby Rush (born November 10, 1940) is an American blues and R&B musician, composer and singer. He was born Emmit Ellis Jr. in Homer, Louisiana. His family relocated to Chicago in 1953, where he became part of the local blues scene. He later created his own brand of R&B, "folk-funk" he is also a purveyer of the Soul blues sound. He appears in the mini series "The Blues", produced by Martin Scorsese.
