In art, body proportions are the study of relation of human body parts to each other and the whole, essential for depiction of human figure.
Some common proportion measurements include:

- The relation of leg length to body height (equal in average adult figure, when measured at the pubis).
- The relation of shin length to hip length (equal in average adult figure).
- The relation between length of arm and body height (expressed as the finger tips reaching the mid-thigh when standing.)
- The correlation between face height and hand length (equal is the norm).
- The section of face (height of forehead is equal to height of nose and to height of mouth and chin together).
- The correlation between foot length and forearm length ((equal is the norm).
- The relation between the eyes and eye separation (equal to one eye width is the standard).
- The relation between the length of the wingspan (measured between the tips of the middle fingers) and body height.
