- A short and pointed mistake having an amusing effect. Common among school children it is usually in response to a written or oral question. The term is also used in the same sense as the word blooper.
- A slang term describing the erection of the penis, derived from the misconception that an erection is created by a bone.
- In some parts of the United States, "boner" is also a slang term for "cool", while in other parts, "boner" is a slang for "uncool".
