Bourgeois pseudoscience (Буржуазная лженаука) was a cliche in the Soviet Union of certain scientific disciplines that were deemed inadmissible from the ideological point of view.

At different moments the following disciplines were pronounced "bourgeois psudousciences": genetics (see Lysenkoism), cybernetics, sociology, semiotics,and many others disciplines and approaches. This attitude brought irreparable harm to the development of the Soviet Union.

Some other disciplines were declared "bourgeois pseudoscience" in the People's Republic of China.
