Boza is a Turkish beverage made from fermented maize. It has a thick consistency and a very low alcohol content. It is served with cinnamon and roasted chickpeas, and is consumed mainly in the winter months.
The most famous purveyor of Boza is "Vefa", located on the European side of Istanbul. The shop is now a minor tourist attraction.
