Brad Dourif - Definition and Overview

Bradford Claude Dourif (born March 18, 1950 in Huntington, West Virginia) is an American actor.

Filmography

On television he appeared in the Babylon 5 episode Passing Through Gethsemane, in the early X-Files episode "Beyond the Sea", and in Oliver Stone's Wild Palms.

Star Trek fans will remember his role as Lon Suder, a murdering psychopath that eventually redeems himself, from a three-episode arc on Star Trek: Voyager. He previously was part of the Star Trek world as "Rex" in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, in 1989.

He also appeared as the villain Saavedro in Myst III: Exile (2001), the third game in the popular Myst franchise.

Dourif was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975). It was this performance that established Dourif's reputation as a character actor who plays deranged or unbalanced roles. All but a few of those roles listed above fit that description.
