The Brisbane Broncos is a rugby league team based in Brisbane, Queensland, the third-largest city in Australia. A poll taken in Australia in 2002 showed the Brisbane Broncos to be the most supported football club of any code in the country. It had more than 1.1 million supporters.

History
The first privately owned team in what is now the National Rugby League competition, it was formed in 1988. It started with an outstanding win against the 1987 premiers Manly by 44-10.
Its first premiership came on September 27, 1992 when it beat the St. George Dragons 28-8 in the Grand Final. In the Grand Final replay the following year, it again beat St. George, this time by 14-6. It has been coached by Wayne Bennett since its entry into the competition.
It has won 5 Premierships in its short history, and has failed to appear in the finals series on only three occasions.
