Broadcast traffic, in computer networking, is traffic that is simultaneously destined for all computers connected to the network, as opposed to unicast or multicast traffic. In TCP/IP networking, the broadcast address is generally the highest possible address in the IP network address range - for example in the network 192.168.1.0/24 the broadcast address is 192.168.1.255, and any packets sent to this address will be forwarded to all nodes attached to the network. |
