Brochis catfishes in the aquarium trade are often confused with Corydoras. In fact, the "Emerald Cory" is usually Brochis splendens. They can be told apart from Corydoras by the generally larger dorsal fin. They are considered more difficult to breed in captivity, with most reports happening in very low light.
Recently, some taxonomic revisions have placed Brochis entirely within Corydoras, but this has not yet been widely accepted.
