Brock Edward Lesnar (born on July 12, 1977 in Webster, South Dakota) is a former professional wrestler with World Wrestling Entertainment. He won several WWE championships, but also gave his name to the slang verb to brock, or mess up the final scripted move ("finish") of a match. He recently left the WWE (the WWE said that on departure he "put his WWE career on hold") to pursue a career in professional football; after failing to make the NFL, he is pursuing options in some other leagues. Recently, rumours are emanating that Lesnar has opted to return to professional wrestling.
Wrestling career
Lesnar was an outstanding amateur wrestler and went to the University of Minnesota on a full wrestling scholarship. He won two NCAA wrestling championships as a heavyweight.
In 1999 he signed with the WWE and was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling for development. He was trained as a professional by Danny Davis. In 2002, Lesnar was called up to WWE and was immediately pushed. He won both the King of the Ring tournament and the WWE Championship that year, becoming the youngest WWE world champion ever (until the record was broken in 2004 by Randy Orton). He lost the championship in November at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. After winning the Royal Rumble match in January 2003, he regained the championship in the main event of WrestleMania XIX from Kurt Angle despite blowing the spectacular final move, a Shooting Star Press, and forcing Angle to improvise the finish. Lesnar and Angle traded the championship back and forth once, before Lesnar lost it to Eddie Guerrero at February 2004's No Way Out event.
After Wrestlemania XX, Lesnar left the WWE and the wrestling business altogether to pursue a career in the NFL. He signed with the Minnesota Vikings; though he was cut during the preseason, Lesnar is still commited to becoming a pro football player. Lesnar had suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident during the summer of 2004, which prevented him from performing well enough to remain in a Minnesota Vikings practice squad position. There are plans for Lesnar to probably play in the Canadian Football League. As said above, rumours are saying that Lesnar might come back to professional wrestling.
Lesnar is an above-average worker for a big man and had a dominating physique and aura. Lesnar is known for his hulking physique in addition to his unusual flexibility and endurance on and off the football field. This was most obvious during his career in professional wrestling.
