Brody (Ukrainian Броди, Yiddish בראָד Brod) is a town in the western part of Ukraine. Population 23,239 (2004).
It is considered to be one of the shtetls. It was particularly famous for the Brodersänger or Broder singers, who were among the first to publicly perform Yiddish-language songs outside of Purim plays and wedding parties, and who were an important precursor to Yiddish theater.
