Bromley-by-Bow is a place in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The area is dissected north to south by the Blackwall Tunnel Approach Road (A12). The boundary of the area to the east is the River Lee which was once the easternmost limit of the Metropolitan Borough of Poplar and the County of London both of which the area was part of until they were replaced in 1965 by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and Greater London respectively.
