Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,084 km² (805 mi²). 2,058 km² (794 mi²) of it is land and 27 km² (10 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.28% water.

There are 11,576 housing units at an average density of 6/km² (15/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 96.36% White, 0.31% Black or African American, 0.90% Native American, 1.34% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.30% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. 0.88% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
