Brunhilda was the wife of king Sigebert I of Austrasia, and ruled that kingdom after his death in 575 until she died in 613. She was the daughter of Athanagild, Visigothic king of Spain, and the sister of Galswintha, the wife of Chilperic I, the Merovingian king of Neustria.
