Look and Feel of BGHS
Currently, the school is undergoing a slight renovation of the ceiling tiles, much to the general dismay of the student body, as there is a building-wide decrease in temprature and a layer of white dust in the halls. The school was built in 1971-1972 and its first class graduated in 1973. It was originally built under the pretense that the neighborhoods feeding the school would dry out under 20 years- resulting in the ingenius idea that the school should be designed to convert easily into an office building. Students and teachers alike remark that elements of the school, like the four main resource rooms, look like the office in the movie 9 to 5 starring Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton. Fortunately for the Millenial generation of students, the neighborhoods are doing quite well. Unfortunately, the office idea has resulted in hard-to-locate triangular classrooms and a sub-par heating/cooling layout.
Bison Pride?
The Bison take pride on their Band and Orchestra programs, as well as their showchoir, The Expressions. Other orginizations that deserve mention: Blue Crew (Student Spirit), Scholastic Bowl (like Jeopardy), Speech Team (perinneal state qualifiers) and the German Club.
