['bitɔm]) is a city in southern Poland with 205,560 inhabitants (1999).

It is situated in the Silesian Voivodship (since 1999), previously in Katowice Voivodship (1975-1998).

In the German language, it has traditionally been known as Beuthen. This name may be falling into disuse over time, though it can still be found in current use in Germany in some cases.
