Callington, is a town in southeast Cornwall, UK, in the Caradon District. The town is situated between Kit Hill and Bodmin Moor. It is the home of the Ginsters Pasty Factory. In the 18th century Callington was one of the most important mining areas in the British Isles. Deposits of silver were found nearby in Silver Valley. Today many old mining stacks dot the horizon, but there are no active mines apart from some granite quarrying on Hingston Down. |
