Calma Calma

Calma - Definition and Overview

Calma was an early supplier of electronic computer aided design (ECAD) systems.

In 1981, it was purchased by General Electric and operated as an independent unit, GE Calma. The latter was sold to Computervision.

Calma is best known today for its GDSII format, the IC industry de facto standard for IC layout data exchange for more than two decades.
