Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives - Definition

The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives is Canada's leading left-wing think tank. It concentrates on economic matters and is most famous for publishing an alternative budget annually. They also advocate such causes as the legalization of marijuana and the Kyoto Accord. Politically it is most closely linked with the NDP though it has some even stronger specific ties with the Marijuana Party. The CCPA is based in Ottawa but has branch offices in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and Halifax. It is funded through individual donations.
