Carcharodontosaurus Carcharodontosaurus

Carcharodontosaurus - Definition and Overview

Carcharodontosaurus was a gigantic Allosaur with an estimated size of up to 49 feet (15 meters) long. It was thus a rival in size for the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex.

This animal was once thought to have the longest skull of any of the theropods. However, the original reconstructions of the bones are now thought to be wrong and that honour thus belongs to another huge Allosaur, its close relative Giganotosaurus.
