Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand - Definition

Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand (1609/16101-1641) (also known as Fernando), Governor of the Habsburg Netherlands, Cardinal, Infante, Archbishop of Toledo (1619-41). Born in Escorial 16091, died on 9 November 1641 in Brussels. Son of King of Spain, Philip III, brother of King of Spain Philip IV. He was, along with his cousin and namesake King Ferdinand of Hungary, the victor of the Battle of Nördlingen in 1634.

Had an illegitimate daughter, Marie Anne de la Croix, a nun. She was born in Brussels 1641, dien in Madrid 1715.
