Carmen Rasmusen (born March 25, 1985 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) was a singing hopeful who ranked sixth on the second series of American Idol in 2003.

As the only contestant in the second series under the age of eighteen, she had to spend three hours a day with an on-set tutor. Her mother had to accompany her with the other contestants to the special American Idol house, where they all lived during the competition until she turned eighteen. She was praised by her fans as having a wholesome, girlish appeal. In his book, Simon Cowell mentioned that Carmen would have a great career if she was guided right. She was the first and only contestant in the shows history to make the Top 12 without ever being selected to be in the Top 32 first.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Carmen is currently attending Brigham Young University.
In addition to releasing singles of her music, Rasmusen made her acting debut in 2003 in the feature film Pride and Prejudice: A Latter-day Comedy as Charlotte. She released her first single in early 2005 to critical acclaim. Fred Bronson, of Billboard Magazine named the single #5 of the Top 10 Best Singles of the year.
