Castle Bromwich is a suburb of Solihull, in the English West Midlands.
Currnetly best known for its Jaguar car factory, during World War II, there was a large airfield, and the factory made Spitfires, Hurricanes and Lancaster bombers.
It is also home to Castle Bromwich Hall, the previous residence of the Earl of Bradford for many years and is not for sale for about £3million. Adjoining Castle Bromwich Hall are the Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens, a hugely popular tourist attraction for many years and a source of pride for the residents of Castle Bromwich.
Castle Bromwich was the location of the first telephone outside of London. It was built in Castle Bromwich Village Post Office, which finally closed in 2004, and was built so that the Queen could stay in contact with London when on visits to the Earl of Bradford.
