Celiac trunk - Definition and Overview

The celiac trunk is the first major branch of the abdominal aorta. It supplies blood to the liver, stomach, spleen, duodenum and the pancreas.

Quite soon after its formation, the celiac trunk divides into the left gastric artery, the common hepatic artery and the gastroduodenal artery.
