Chaos is a simple turn based strategy game where the player(s) take the role of wizards who vie with one another to rule the game. The aim of the game is to defeat all opposing wizards. Each turn, a wizard may cast one of various spells and move around the game area. Each action takes away from a quota of action points that are replenished after each turn.
Spell is either Lawful, Neutral, or Chaotic, and a difficulty value expressed as a percentage chance of success when cast.
During the game, a glocal "Chaos quotient" affects the chance of success. For example, a spell with difficulty 50%, which is very Chaotic will be harder to cast when the game is in a Lawful state.
Spells fall into various categories:
- Creature spells - these summon creatures that fight with the wizard
- Object spells - spells that create objects like walls and such.
- Attacking spells - e.g. lightening bolt.
- Wizard spells - that effect the properties of the wizard, e.g. Magic Armour.
- Miscellaneous spells - the others!
By far the most awesome spell is Gooey Blob, provided it is cast early enough in the game!
