Charles Martin Smith is an American actor with an uncanny ability to appear in lasting and memorable films. Although he usually has a supporting role, it is always seminal to the picture and his ease at acting draws the audience into the experience as a flavour of truth not a fictitious production.

His first great appearance was in American Graffiti playing 'Toad'. He logged almost or as much screen time as any of the rest of that great ensemble cast. Since then he has appeared in both The Buddy Holly Story and Starman. He also starred in and narrated Never Cry Wolf. All of these productions are timeless and have a loyal following.
Never Cry Wolf is especially popular in Canada where Smith played the legendary Farley Mowat character who lives like a wolf in the far north for a season.
He also has production, directing and writing credits in a carreer that has spanned over 35 years and continues.
