Sir Charles Edward Trevelyan (1807 - 1886) was a British politcian. He was born in Taunton. In the 1830s he was in Calcutta, where he was active in the field of education. He was assistant secretary to the Treasury during the Irish Famine, and responsible for administering famine relief. Later he was a civil service reformer. External link |
