Charlotte Rafoth - Definition and Overview

Charlotte Rafoth was a female overseer at several concentration camps during the Second World War.

Charlotte Rafoth was born Charlotte Lange in Neuenkirchen, Germany on June 1, 1919. She later married and became Charlotte Rafoth. Sometime in 1944 she applied with the SS and they sent her as an Aufseherin to the Buchenwald concentration camp for training. In the fall of 1944 Charlotte was assigned to the Gelsenkirchen subcamp near the Dutch border. In ealry April 1945, Charlotte accompanied a transport of women prisoners to the Soemmerda subcamp near Buchenwald. Her fate remains unknown.
