Chas Chandler (December 18, 1938–July 17, 1996) was a British musician, record producer and manager of several successful music acts.
Born in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne area and christened Bryan Chandler, he began his career playing in a trio with Alan Price. When vocalist, Eric Burdon, joined them, the group was renamed The Animals and became one of the most successful R&B bands of the 1960s, second only to the Rolling Stones.
After the group split up, Chas Chandler reinvented himself, becoming manager of Jimi Hendrix and recruiting other musicians to form the Jimi Hendrix Experience. He also produced their first two albums.
Chas Chandler died of a heart condition.
