Obie Trice Chronology
Cheers
(2003)

Cheers is Obie Trice's debut album, released on the 23rd of September 2003 after Obie was signed to Shady Records in 2000.

The album's title is named after his song by the same name (track 2). This particular song celebrates Obie's successful debut into the rap game after being underground for many years in Detroit, Michigan.

The album's first single "Got Some Teeth" was well received on radio. The album consists of 17 tracks, no skits, with executive production from Eminem, and additional production by Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Mike Elizondo, Emile, Fredwreck and Denaun Porter. Artists featuring on Cheers include Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg and D12 among others.

Topics Obie has touched on this album include his life on the streets of Detroit, problems with his mother, relationships with women and the soulful reminder that, despite having made it into the mainstream, he has not forgotten his friends.

This album contains no skits tracks, aside from the skit at the beginning of Hoodrats. There was expected to be approximately 4-5 skits, much alike Eminem's albums. This was false, quite thankfully.
