Chiral - Definition and Overview

Chirality refers to several phenomena, all having to do with objects that differ from their mirror image.

• The handedness of human beings,
• The chirality of mathematical objects,
• The chirality of some subatomic particles,
• The chirality of some molecules in the study of chemistry.

Pairs of mirror image objects are called Enantiomorphs.
