The Chitina River is a river in southern Alaska, at about 61° North 141°40' West. It begins in the Saint Elias Mountains at the base of Logan Glacier and runs 193 km (120 miles) west until it flows into the Copper River at Chitina, Alaska.

The Chitina River flows through the Wrangell - St Elias National Park and Preserve.

The area around the river was once a major copper mining region. Fishing and rafting are popular in the area.
