Choriocarcinoma is a rare cancer of the placenta, curable by chemotherapy.
Diagnosis
- vaginal bleeding
- high βHCG levels
Pathology
On light microscopy trophoblastic proliferation is seen, possibly with nuclear atypia and/or invasion of other structures.
Treatment
Methotrexate is used.
