Chorleywood station - Definition

Chorleywood station is a London Underground station in Zone B on the Metropolitan line. The town of Chorleywood is located in the county of Hertfordshire about 20 miles from London proper.

Chorleywood Station also serves Chiltern Railways, which runs trains from London Marylebone station through to Aylesbury. As of October 2004 almost all Southbound Metropolitan Line trains from Chorleywood into London were Fast trains to Baker Street. Calling at Rickmansworth, Moor Park, Harrow-on-the-Hill, Wembley Park, Finchley Road and Baker Street. The journey to central London takes around 35-50 minutes depending on the line and time of day. Northbound Metropolitan line trains call at all stations to Amersham.

Chorleywood is an affluent, predominantly middle class area with high house prices. In 2004 Chorleywood West, where the station is located, was found to have the highest quality of life (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/3689715.stm) of any Ward_(politics) in England.
