Christopher Lyall Smith (born 15 October 1958, Durban, South Africa) was a cricketer for Hampshire and England.
Smith was unable to play for the country of his birth because of the exclusion of the apartheid regime from international cricket, but because he had English parents he qualified to play for England. However, Smith played only eight Test matches, never establishing himself in the side. He was much more successful for Hampshire, enjoying a successful career with that county and scoring more than 40 first class hundreds.
Chris Smith is the older brother of fellow England Test player Robin Smith.
