Christian Arabs are found mainly in Lebanon, with significant other populations in Iraq (e.g. Assyrian Christians), Syria (see Jacobite Orthodox Church), Palestine and Israel. Some of the Palestinian Christians converted by American or European missionaries during the colonial period) (see Palestinian Christians). While there are many other groups of Christians in the Arab world (such as the Copts in Egypt, the Armenians in Lebanon and Israel, and certain groups in the Sudan), these are not usually considered ethnically Arab, nor do they view themselves as Arabs. Many Lebanese Christians are Maronite Catholics.
