Christian Democrats (in Danish: Kristendemokraterne) is a political party in Denmark. Founded in 1970 as a reaction on the liberalization of the pornography and legalization of abortion. The party was a member of Danish governments from 1982-88 with the liberal-conservative parties, 1993-94 with the Social Democratics and the social liberals. The name of the party used to be Kristeligt Folkeparti (literally: Christian People's Party), but it was renamed in 2003. Leader from 2003: Marianne Karlsmose (b. 1973)
