Christian metal, also known as white metal (often referred to as "anti-black metal" by black metal fans, or "life metal" by fans of death metal), is a form of heavy metal music with explicitly Christian lyrics. It is a type of contemporary Christian music (CCM).

The first Christian metal band was arguably Jerusalem. Stryper was the first to popularize the genre.

Most heavy metal fans do not consider this to be a real form of metal.

Many Christian metal bands can be seen at the Cornerstone Festival in Illinois or Bobfest in Europe.
