 Chrysler New Yorker - Definition

The Chrysler New Yorker name occupied nearly the top rung of Chrysler's car line from the 1950s into the 1990s. Only the Chrysler Imperial outranked it in size and price.

The original New Yorkers got Chrysler's big-block V8 FirePower and later 400 cubic inch (6.6 L) B engine.

The Chrysler Fifth Avenue began as a submodel of the New Yorker in 1979, after the nameplate was shifted to the formerly mid-size Dodge Coronet platform, but with a new squared-off body.

The last generation of New Yorkers was front wheel drive and was introduced in 1993 as an LH Car. The New Yorker saw its last year in 1994, as an identical twin to the LHS. Well, let everyone hope that the Chrysler New Yorker model will return as a sporty little convertible in a number of years!
