1918. 4. Chung-Ang Kindergarten established at Chung-Ang Methodist Church
1922. 9. Kindergarten Teacher Certificate Program established at Chung-Ang kindergarten
1928. 9. Accredited as Chung-Ang Normal School
1933. 4. Dr. Louis Yim assumed the Principalship, becoming the Founder of the School, moved the School to the present location
1945. 9. Accredited as Chung-Ang Junior Women's College
1947. 4. Accredited as Chung-Ang Women's College
1948. 5. Accredited as Chung-Ang College, becoming a coeducational
1950. 9. First Batch of Bachelors graduated
1953. 2. Accredited as a University with a graduate school and four component Colleges.Dr. Louis Yim installed as the First President
2003. 9. The University has produced 117,511 bachelors, 19,743 masters and 2,935 doctors in
total, from 14 graduate schools and 18 undergraduate colleges comprising 16 divisions, 14
faculties and 68 departments
Chung-Ang University aims to cultivate multi-skilled professionals on the basis of composite
fields of culture and art and the legitimacy of national culture. In order to embody the best
university in the nation boasting an advanced culture, the university has chosen the following
plans to distinguish itself in this direction:
to perform a leading part in developing diverse models for an educational system that is suitable
to the actual situation in our country
