The Circumpolar religion is (or was) shared by all Circumpolar peoples and is essentially a social structure based on three factors: religion is managed and heritaged from antiquity before farming was introduced, they advance their heritaged knowledge from their forefathers and they live under extreme conditions such as in arctic climate.

Their traditional economy, based on fishing and hunting, is today relaying on vehicles and helicopters. Khantians are one of the few folks that still in the end of 20th century lived traditionally and based their economy on hunting and fishing; a major oral history still exists.

Circumpolar Shamanism is literaly described as "magic", "sorcery" and "supernatural"

Their ceremonies were usually accompanied by drums, and pictograms (glyphs) on Norwegian drums can be associated with some petroglyphs (see Alta.)

Specially shaped landscape features or areas have traditionally been the locus in sacrifice. The important act of sacrification, usually to improve luck in hunting and fishing, was managed by a male figure normally termed shaman in English. The Euroasian group used "white" animals in ceremonies, that's it, wild animals with white fur or non-wild animals such as horses and goats.
