Central Plaza can be seen in the background. The City Hall is at Edinburgh Place, Central, Hong Kong Island. Completed in 1962, this is the second building complex to serve as Hong Kong's city hall.
The complex has two buildings and a garden. The taller building at the south-western end houses a number of government facilities, including a library (formerly Hong Kong's central library). The lower building at the eastern end has a concert hall, restaurants and a marriage registry. The conference room of the former Urban Council was also at the lower building of the City Hall.
The garden at the north-western side of the complex includes a memorial to those killed in Hong Kong during World War II.
