Claire Ward (born 9 May 1972) is a politician in the United Kingdom. She is Labour Party member of Parliament for Watford, and was first elected in 1997, defeating Robert Gordon of the Conservative Party and Andrew Canning of the Liberal Democrats. She succeded former Deputy Chief Whip Tristan Garel-Jones who retired in 1997 and at the time was the yougest MP of the 20th centuary and the youngest since William Pitt the Younger. In 2001 she retained her seat defeating Michael McManus of the Conservative Party and Duncan Hames of the Liberal Democrats. She studied at the University of Hertfordshire.
