Clarence Day - Definition

Clarence Shepherd Day, Jr. (November 18, 1874 - December 28, 1935) was an American author. He was born in New York City in the USA. He graduated from Yale University in 1896. After working in his father's stockbrokerage house, Day joined the Navy, but developed arthritis and spent the remainder of his life as a semi-invalid.

His most famous work was Life with Father, which also became a play, a 1947 film, and a television series. The book is a semi-autobiographical and humorous account of his parental household.

Day died in New York City.
