Clinton County is a county located in the state of Michigan. As of 2000, the population is 64,753. Its name is in honor of the seventh Governor of New York State, DeWitt Clinton. Its county seat is St. Johns6.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,488 km² (575 mi²). 1,480 km² (571 mi²) of it is land and 8 km² (3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.54% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 96.40% White, 0.63% Black or African American, 0.44% Native American, 0.52% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.81% from other races, and 1.17% from two or more races. 2.61% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
