Clinton Hill is a neighborhood in South Central, Newark, New Jersey. It is centered around Clinton Avenue, and bounded roughly by Elizabeth Avenue on the east, Hawthorne Avenue on the south, Avon Avenue on the north, and Irvington on the west. In former times, it was mostly lower middle-class Ukrainian Jewish. Now it is mostly poor African-American.
