Clio is a town located in Barbour County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 2,206.

Clio is located at 31°42'35.719" North, 85°36'24.149" West (31.709922, -85.606708)1.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 26.1 km² (10.1 mi²). 26.1 km² (10.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.10% is water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,206 people, 434 households, and 278 families residing in the town. The population density is 84.7/km² (219.4/mi²). There are 527 housing units at an average density of 20.2/km² (52.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 37.31% White, 57.21% Black or African American, 1.22% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 2.09% from other races, and 1.81% from two or more races. 3.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 434 households out of which 29.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.2% are married couples living together, 20.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.9% are non-families. 32.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.41 and the average family size is 2.97.
In the town the population is spread out with 12.1% under the age of 18, 14.2% from 18 to 24, 44.8% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 7.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 296.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 347.6 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $17,417, and the median income for a family is $23,594. Males have a median income of $24,500 versus $18,021 for females. The per capita income for the town is $6,296. 40.5% of the population and 30.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 54.3% of those under the age of 18 and 39.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
