Coddle is a dish traditionally associated with Dublin, Ireland. It consists of a simple thin pork sausage and rasher (bacon) stew with potatoes and onions. The only flavoring is usually salt, pepper, and parsley.
To coddle an infant or young child means to treat them indulgently, or to pamper them.
