CompTIA is an acronym for the "Computing Technology Industry Association". It is a not-for-profit trade association, founded in 1982, and is a provider of many vendor-neutral IT certifications. The certifications are regarded as industry-standard in the field.

CompTIA's certification exams themselves are actually administered through testing centers affiliated with Pearson VUE and Prometric. In addition to certification exams, CompTIA also provides corporate membership.
